- 1998 – To date: I started my own Company – FHDI – Forensic Handwriting & Document Investigation, in which I undertake casework mostly for Defence Lawyers and large Firms all over the World with internal disputes
I have given Expert Witness evidence on many occasions in various Courts including High Courts, Sheriff and District Courts. I am an affiliate of the Chartered Society of Forensic Science and am on their list of Independent Consultants, in the UK, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland.I am a member of the ‘Expert Witness Institute’ and on the UK Register of Expert Witnesses. A member of NEWA (National Expert Witness Agency and on their list of expert witnesses. A Diplomate with ‘NADE’ (National Association of Document Examiners) with whom I have been qualified as a Certified Document Examiner for over 19 years. During some of this time I have been on their Board.
In 2014, was privileged to become a member of the Worshipful Company of Security Professional (the 108th Worshipful Company in the Inner City of London) , obtaining the Freedom of the Company in November 2015 and the Freedom of the City of London in March 2016. In November 2017 was made a Liveryman of this company one of a few women in the company enabling me to progress higher.
I attend Conferences on Document Examination and the role of the Expert Witness both in the UK and throughout the world. Being a member of NADE (National Association of Document Examiners) – our group meet up most years for Annual Conferences usually in the USA and have an extensive programme on the examination of documents and handwriting, this involves discussing with my fellow members the various caseworks we are involved in. 2019 is the 40th Anniversary of this International group and in June 2019 I am Hosting this Conference in Aberdeen with attendees from all over the World.
- 1990 – 1998: I commenced a new career working for Grampian Police in their Identification Department- after 3 years training I was authorised as a Forensic Document Examiner by The Secretary of State for Scotland, in 1993 to report on Handwriting and Document examination and attend Court as an ‘Expert Witness’.
